The Billion-Mulmod-Per-Second PC
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper sets new speed records for ECM, the elliptic-curve method of factorization, on several different hardware platforms: GPUs (specifically the NVIDIA GTX), x86 CPUs with SSE2 (specifically the Intel Core 2 and the AMD Phenom), and the Cell (specifically the PlayStation 3 and the PowerXCell 8i). In particular, this paper explains how to carry out more than one billion 192-bit modular multiplications per second on a $2000 personal computer.

PC-based Motion Control in a superconducting electron linear accelerator
An exciting new research facility is currently under construction in the Hamburg metropolitan region. Opening in 2017, the center will house the European XFEL X-ray laser, an apparatus generating ultra-short X-ray flashes – 27,000 times per second – with a brilliance that is a billion times higher than that of current conventional X-ray radiation sources. PC-based control and drive technology f...
متن کاملNordsieck representation of high order predictor-corrector Obreshkov methods and their implementation
Predictor-corrector (PC) methods for the numerical solution of stiff ODEs can be extended to include the second derivative of the solution. In this paper, we consider second derivative PC methods with the three-step second derivative Adams-Bashforth as predictor and two-step second derivative Adams-Moulton as corrector which both methods have order six. Implementation of the proposed PC method ...
متن کاملAssessment of the Risk of Colorectal Cancer Survivors Developing a Second Primary Pancreatic Cancer
Background/Aims We aimed to investigate the incidence of second primary pancreatic cancer (PC) after colorectal cancer (CRC) and to identify risk factors associated with subsequent PC. Methods The observed incidence of a subsequent PC in patients with CRC was standardized using a population with CRC from the Korean Central Cancer Registry (KCCR). The expected incidence rate of PC was obtained...
متن کاملModel and simulation of exascale communication networks
Exascale supercomputers will have millions or even hundreds of millions of processing cores and the potential for nearly billion-way parallelism. Exascale compute and data storage architectures will be critically dependent on the interconnection network. The most popular interconnection network for current and future supercomputer systems is the torus (e.g., k-ary, n-cube). This paper focuses o...
متن کاملHIV/AIDS And The Future Of The Poor, Illiterate And Marginalized Populations
Today, of the global population of 6.5 billion people about 2 billion have access to modern facilities (food, water, shelter, sanitation, health care, education, jobs), who I characterize as the “haves”. Of these 2 billion, roughly 1 billion live in the developed (industrialized) world and the second billion consist of the top 15-20% of the remaining world population. About 3 billion are poor (...
